I recently purchased The Language Of Drumming and really appreciate not only your lessons and insights but also the amazing production value on display. That’s how instructional dvds should be done!!! Quick question: I notice in all the videos I’ve seen you use match grip and at times French grip on your sticks. As I play mostly traditional I was wondering what reasons you have for not playing traditional style?

Beautiful drumming! Can’t get enough of it…
One thing that I and im sure many other dummers out there would love some help on, and that is buying drum kits… Im finding it very hard to get past all the bullshit marketing and promises that these companies make. Do you have any advice on this? And why do you play Sonor drums?

I have been working through your book with my drum teacher and it has greatly helped my sticking. I also just got the DVD and loved it, the thing I learned most from the video was how to practice more efficiently and more creatively. You are an amazing drummer. I hope you do a clinic or a gig with one of your bands in Minnesota some day cuz I would love to hear you live and meet you. Thanks for all the super helpful exercises.

Dein Schlagzeugspiel gestern abend mit Nils Wülker hat mich völlig begeistert (bin selbst Mucker seit Ewigkeiten,weiß wovon ich spreche). Neben Deiner Technik hat mich vor allem Dein hohes Maß an Musikalität beeindruckt, Dein Einfühlungsvermögen in die Stücke, Dein “ehrliches Spiel”, der Sound Deines Instruments. Falls ich Dich gestern richtig gedeutet habe, warst Du positiv überrascht über das provinzielle Publikum in Hameln. Ja, so sind wir, wenn die Qualität stimmig ist. Lass Dich mal wieder blicken! First off, Congratulations and welcome to parenthood! After 40 years of playing drums and at least 30 years of using new beat hi hats I have been searching for a different sound. Nine sets of assorted hats later I stumbled upon the sand hats. Now this is THE sound that I am excited about. They are simply fantastic! Of course, that wasn’t enough. I’m now loving the 20″ ride along with the hats. My next addition will be the 22″ crash ride. These have such an expressive sound, I can’t get enough.

As a drummer it’s weird that I actually get bored watching most drum solos. Most people (non-drummers) have no idea whether what’s being played is quite simple or highly technical. It’s all Greek to them! Your solos on the other hand are quite entertaining. Your innovation and enthusiasm is unmistakable. Benny Greb! Love your playing! Really inspiring!
I bought your DVD, and I liked your method so much that I wanted to ask you if I can use it to teach some of my students in church…
I`m from Brazil… 21 years old (started at 12) and I`ve been playing gospel music since I started to learn the instrument…
You are really a master in terms of musicality in drums… I love Vinnie, Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, and others specially in gospel genres like Aaron Spears and Chris Coleman… But your groove and feeling to the drums… wow… it`s just amazing!!! I`ve never seen such an imagination and musicality! Hands down!!! hahaha
Come to Brazil once!!! I`m sure that you have a lot of fans that would love to see you playing here Benny!!
