I recently purchased The Language Of Drumming and really appreciate not only your lessons and insights but also the amazing production value on display. That’s how instructional dvds should be done!!! Quick question: I notice in all the videos I’ve seen you use match grip and at times French grip on your sticks. As I play mostly traditional I was wondering what reasons you have for not playing traditional style?

One thing that I and im sure many other dummers out there would love some help on, and that is buying drum kits… Im finding it very hard to get past all the bullshit marketing and promises that these companies make. Do you have any advice on this? And why do you play Sonor drums?
If you could do one thing in the world… I WISH that you would release a brass band VINYL! It would be so perfect sounding its unreal. PLEASE take this into consideration. I know the guestbook means nothing. But really all i want at this point, after owning some of your CDs and your Language of Drumming dvd… all I want is a Benny Greb Brass Band vinyl…

I also just got the DVD and loved it, the thing I learned most from the video was how to practice more efficiently and more creatively. You are an amazing drummer. I hope you do a clinic or a gig with one of your bands in Minnesota some day cuz I would love to hear you live and meet you. Thanks for all the super helpful exercises.

Most people (non-drummers) have no idea whether what’s being played is quite simple or highly technical. It’s all Greek to them! Your solos on the other hand are quite entertaining. I`m from Brazil… 21 years old (started at 12) and I`ve been playing gospel music since I started to learn the instrument…
You are really a master in terms of musicality in drums… I love Vinnie, Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, and others specially in gospel genres like Aaron Spears and Chris Coleman… But your groove and feeling to the drums… wow… it`s just amazing!!! I`ve never seen such an imagination and musicality! Hands down!!! hahaha

Kannst Du mir noch einen Tipp geben, wie ich das lästige Mitschwingen meiner Snare durch die anderen Instrumente in der Band, vermindern kann, ohne zu große Kompromisse mit dem Sound meiner Snare machrn zu müssen. Ich bin am Verzweifeln.
Nochmal vielen Dank und schenke uns noch viele schöne Momente mit Deiner Musik.

I think your solos are musically, rhythmically and they have dramaturgic concept even if it is improvisation (we do know that any luck in improvisation is a hard homework) because of having every time groove in base.

I have to say it is without doubt the most original, thought provoking drum tutor I have come across and also actually looks like someone took a lot of care about the production values. Ich hab mir in den letzten jahren massenhaft schlagzeuger angeschaut aber nie einen gefunden der so viel groove und perfektion in jeden einzelnen Rhythmus steckt! Du bist der beste Lehrer den ich hatte weil ich durch deine Videos mssenhaft gelernt habe! Mein Sehnlichster Wunsch wäre an deinem Mastersessiondrumcamp teilzunehmen aber ich kann mir das ne leisten bin noch abiturient. Es wäre das größte für mich wenn du mir mal schreiben würdest oder sagen ob du mal in sachsen bist…
